Environmental Quality

Assisting farmers, ranchers and citizens in understanding and implementing practices to protect and improve soil, water and air quality is the goal of the extension environmental quality program. The environmental quality research/extension team includes researchers, extension specialists and agents from across the K-State campus and Kansas.

Phytoremediation

Phytoremediation, more broadly referred to as phytotechnology, uses vegetation to contain, sequester, remove, or degrade inorganic and organic contaminants in soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater.
