UPDATED: Sorghum Connection Field Days Adjusted for Aug. 26-27; Dighton Field Day Still Set for Aug. 28

Change of Plans for 2026 Sorghum Connection Field Days:

K-State Extension, the K-State Department of Plant Pathology, and the Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission (KGSC) have announced updates to the 2026 Sorghum Connection field day schedule. The Aug. 26 field day near Bavaria and the Aug. 27 field day near Dorrance have been replaced with Sorghum Connection programming at the K-State Western Kansas Research-Extension Center Fall Field Days in Hays (Aug. 26) and Tribune (Aug. 27). The Aug. 28 Sorghum Connection Field Day near Dighton will continue as originally scheduled.

Attendees interested in Sorghum Connection programming are encouraged to attend the Hays or Tribune field days, where Sorghum Connection presentations will be incorporated into the agenda. Details for both events, along with the complete 2026 field day schedule, are available at https://wkrec.org/events/field_days/.

The Sorghum Connection field day near Dighton will be held as planned on Friday, Aug. 28, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at the intersection of Road 120 and Mustang Road (2 miles east and 3 miles south of Dighton). There is no cost to attend, but advance online registration is requested.

The Sorghum Connection series, launched by the Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission (KGSC) in 2024 in collaboration with K-State Extension and the K-State Department of Plant Pathology, announces a third year of comprehensive field days.

The field days focus on data-driven management decisions aimed at improving producer profitability. Featured topics will include hybrid selection and performance, cropping systems, fertility management, and more. In addition, participants will hear from Kansas State University specialists and industry experts while gaining hands-on experience with precision agriculture technologies, including drone-based mapping and spraying applications.

There is no cost to attend, but attendees are asked to register online.
