Continue to emphasize cooperative research on cropping systems with reduced tillage/no tillage for winter wheat, grain sorghum, soybean, and corn that will aid producers in adopting practices that improve economic returns. Investigate ways to optimize production of double-crop no-till wheat after row crops through residue management as well as fertilizer use and seeding rates. Explore ways to intensify and diversify cropping systems appropriate to the benefit area by investigation of crop sequence effects and the inclusion of less commonly grown crops. Research weed control practices that minimize cost in reduced-till/no-till systems.
