Biography & Education
Guillermo Balboa is a Ph.D. student in Agronomy at Kansas State University. His advisor is Dr. Ignacio Ciampitti. Guillermo is well rounded with deep knowledge on the soil-plant system and also Precision Ag tools such as site-specific nutrient and production management for corn systems. A native of Argentina, Guillermo received his Masters and Agronomic Engineer degrees at the National University of Rio Cuarto.
He has an impressive resume of academic achievements, awards, teaching and work experience. For continuing his studies in the US, Guillermo was awarded with a Fulbright scholarship, recognizing all the contributions made at this early-stage of his professional career. He joined the KSUCROPS Crop Production Team where he is conducting critical research to evaluate the effect of the best management practices to close yield gaps in a corn-soybean rotation.
Balboa provides leadership as Vice President of the Agronomy Student Association at K-State and as President of the Fulbright Student Organization and he also holds a professorship position at the National University of Rio Cuarto with teaching, research and extension appointments.
